What is PPI?
PPI stands for payment protection insurance and when sold properly it is a very good insurance. It should cover your loan repayments or credit or store card payments if you have an accident, get sick or cannot work. However unfortunately PPI has been sold to people who did not need it, did not want it and sold to people who could never ever claim against the vastly over priced policies that they bought.
According to the super complaint that was raised by the Citizens Advice Bureau to the Financial Ombudsman Service only 15% of people that bought PPI policies were able to claim on them ;there are estimates that there are 20,000,000 PPI policies in the Great Britain and Northern Ireland. That means that the vast majority of claims; over 4 out of 5; were turned down on the grounds that they were excluded!!!
